Faculty of Business and Law

University of Lincoln

Refurbishment of a 4 storey press print works and office to create a prestigious new facility for the University of Lincoln's Business and Law Faculty.

A modern university facility providing seminar rooms, lecture theatres, moot court, learning lounges, cafe and faculty staff accommodation.

All within the strict planning confines of an existing city centre landmark building, with all the usual access restrictions that such a building and location brings.

Procurement was through a two stage process. Lindum brought experience and expertise to assist the design process, programming and the selection of specifications which, by way of an open book policy on costs, provided the Client with the best value for money solutions.

The very nature of two stage tendering brought all parties together at an early stage in a positive environment that generated a teamwork ethos which, in turn, promoted the interests of the project and the Client.

Of the 543 people who worked on this project on site, 327 were from Lincoln and Lincolnshire and of the £3.9m build cost 82%, or £3.2m, was spent with 32 Lincolnshire companies.
