Siemens - Teal Park
Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd
Lindum Construction carried out the £2.7 Million contract to fit out the production unit of the newly named Feilden House, home to Siemens' world class gas turbine overhaul facility at Teal Park.
The work undertaken by Lindum included creating three buildings within the main warehouse with individual designated zones for specialist tasks within the overhaul workshop and the addition of a 1st floor viewing gallery for visitors. This was designed to meet Siemens' requirement for a facility based on high efficiency ‘lean’ processes.
Once the purpose built building had been completed, it was the Lindum team's task to coordinate the movement and installation of machines and furniture from Siemens' existing Ruston Works facility in Lincoln to the new Teal Park site. The planning of the move was critical in enabling Siemens to schedule works to take into account the down time of machines during the move and to minimise business disruption.
Neil Corner, Director of Service at Siemens, said: "The opening of this world class state of the art facility has been the product of much hard work and dedication by the Siemens team and the specialist contractors we have employed, which include our neighbours Lindum Construction. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has been involved in helping to bring this project to fruition and I would particularly like to thank the Lindum site team of Nigel Parker, Darren Leather and Carl Harrison."
