A children’s home was demolished to make way for a two-storey building housing 12 apartments with Warden’s accommodation and a row of eight houses for 50% shared ownership for Waterloo Housing. Two of the houses have three bedrooms and the rest have two bedrooms. The apartments are one bedroom and have an open plan kitchen and living area.

The homes are strip foundations with block beam and timber frame structure. As a consequence of the sloping site, some of the concrete foundations are 2 metres deep.

The development is next to a busy road and careful co-ordination and planning was required for the delivery of large plant machinery and materials, which necessitated partial road closures and effective traffic management systems. Thanks to the co-operation of local residents and motorists these measures enabled the required access to be maintained with minimal disruption.

The first Linkage Community Trust residents were handed their keys at an official opening event. Project Manager for Waterloo, Jessica Thomas, said "I just wanted to say how fantastic the development looks. We have had a great project team and this is testament to the quality of the build."
