David Chambers


David is the youngest son of John F Chambers, who started Lindum as a construction business in 1956. Born in Lincoln, David studied at UMIST, worked at Citicorp in London, then set up his own tennis business, before joining Lindum in 1988, becoming a Director in 1990 and Chairman in 1991. A former competitive tennis player, David now competes in the UK's Over 55 events! David is Deputy Lieutenant for Lincolnshire, is Chairman of Lincoln Cathedral's Business Support Group, the Treasurer for the Heritage Lincolnshire's Magna Carta Trust, as well as Chair of East Midlands Business Angels and a Director of Investors in Lincoln. Married to Susan, with three children, two of whom now work in the business.

Kevin Damarell

Managing Director, BMS

Kevin joined Lindum 1985 as a surveyor and has been Managing Director of the £20m Building Maintenance Services Division since 1990, becoming Group Director in 1998. He has an active interest in rugby union which, along with his 4 sons, keeps him busy outside of work. An avid reader, is a specialist in Roman History - our only Latin scholar.

Simon Gregory

Managing Director, Construction

Simon joined Lindum as a Construction Manager in 1998 from Bowmer & Kirkland, a national construction company. Simon has been Managing Director of £60m turnover Lindum Construction Division since 2001, becoming a Lindum Group Director in 2004. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering, enjoys rugby and is an active sportsman with a sporty family. Also a leather clad speed merchant on two wheels! Simon, with his wife Sally, have two children, George and Kate.

Robbie Kok

Group Financial Director

Robbie was appointed to the main board as Group Financial Director on 23rd January 2015, taking over responsibilities and duties from Herman Kok, Robbie’s father, as he enjoys semi-retirement but continues as Company Secretary. After gaining his degree in Pure Maths from Durham University Robbie worked for RBS Natwest Financial Markets in London from ‎2000 to 2005, trading Interest Rate Derivatives. Subsequently, Robbie joined Deloitte in 2005 to work as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor in Manchester before leaving to join Lindum as Chief Financial Officer in January 2014.

Stuart Mitchell

Managing Director, Joint Ventures

Stuart, who grew up in Saxilby and attended Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Gainsborough, joined Lindum in 2006 as Development Manager, becoming Managing Director of its Joint Venture division in 2015. He has been instrumental in the success of the company’s land-based projects. Most recently, he helped negotiate the relocation of international firm Wirtgen to a purpose-build facility off the A46 and has overseen the transformation of waste land at Lincoln’s Deacon Road into four large retail units for national clients. Stuart is married and had three teenage children

Freddie Chambers

Business Development Director

Freddie joined Lindum in 2012 as Business Development Manager and was appointed to the main board on 16th December 2016. As a qualified Chartered Surveyor, Freddie started his career working for Asset Management companies in London where he was responsible for looking after multi let retail, office, residential and industrial properties throughout the UK. Freddie has known Lindum all his life as the company was started by his grandfather, John F Chambers, and his father David Chambers has been Chairman since 1991. Freddie lives near Grantham with his wife Octavia and their young daughter Lucy, he enjoys sport and is a keen tennis player.

Edward Chambers

General Manager of Lindum Plant

After receiving a First in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, Edward joined RBS in the City of London before moving to Lindum in 2013 as Business Development Manager where he used his experience to further develop client relationships, concentrating on construction and the Group’s wider interests in Lincoln and York. In 2016, Edward was appointed as General Manager of Lindum Plant where he is tasked with the responsibility for running and developing the Group’s Plant Hire and Vehicle Maintenance Division. Joining his father David Chambers, Chairman, and older brother Freddie, Edward was appointed to the main board on 16th December 2016 and lives with his wife Fenella and two young daughters near Lincoln.

Herman Kok

Company Secretary

Herman joined Lindum in 1987, having previously been Finance Director for Almet Aluminium in the UK. Born and educated in Holland where he read Economics and Law at the University of Amsterdam. As Company Secretary for Lindum, he leads our training and community involvement activities. Herman holds directorships with Greater Lincolnshire LEP (GLLEP), Investors in Lincoln Ltd, The Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln BIG and is Chairman of the Employment & Skills Board for Lincolnshire. A former county chess champion, as well as ex-World Circular Champion but still the best in Lincolnshire, we think!

Jonathan Sizer

Managing Director, Lindum York

Jonathan Sizer joined Lindum 19 years ago and worked as an assistant quantity surveyor while studying for a HNC in Building and a BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying. He went on to become Managing Surveyor, before moving to Lindum Waste in Saxilby as General Manager. He relocated to Lindum York in April 2014, shortly after the business was established there, and as MD he has overseen its development into a £30m turnover company with 54 employees and a growing order book.
