We provide a range of construction services from new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects to construction related services such as plant hire, security, specialist roofing and waste recycling.

Lindum Construction is the Group’s largest Building division, specializing in major construction projects, mainly in the Lincoln and extended East Midlands region but also nationally . We have a variety of clients in a range of sectors, including affordable housing, food, retail, education, commercial, industrial and health.

An opportunity has arisen for a Pre-Construction Manager to join our existing team in Lincoln. The candidate will be fully responsible for the delivery of a competitive and compliant tendering function.

Purpose of the role/ Responsibilities

  • Provide tender programme of workload to capture mandatory meeting and milestones to ensure we manage our time efficiently.

  • Attend weekly operations meetings to discuss and agree which tenders to accept and price plus tender liaison with clients and design team

  • Identify and offer strategy to capture project opportunities to give us an advantage when adjudicating the price

  • Maintain contract documentation and advice on pre tender and post contract matters. Ensure a comprehensive list of the tender documents are available as a base line of the price.

  • Identify and offer solutions to reduce project risks and involve specialist skills where required

Technical knowledge requirements

  • Thorough technical knowledge of all major forms of construction

  • Thorough understanding of design responsibility requirements of different forms of contract

  • Knowledge of building regulations, road and sewer adoption protocols and timescales

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and CAD would be an advantage but not essential

  • Experience of managing multiple projects

  • Ability to value engineer design solutions in conjunction with specialist designers

Personal Attributes required

  • Ability to lead, empower, delegate to and motivate teams

  • Commercially astute

  • Ability to de-risk a project from a design, commercial and contractual viewpoint

  • Ability to be the main point of contact with Client Teams, Designers and Specialist Sub Contractors, Suppliers, Local Authority & Statutory Authorities throughout the tender process from tender notification to contract award

  • Ability to prepare, and lead pre, mid and post tender Client presentations

The role is full-time and salary will be commensurate with experience, skill level and qualifications. Benefits include Group Personal Pension, profit related pay, company car or car allowance, employee share scheme and opportunities for further training, development and progression.
