Lindum Construction is the Group’s largest Building division, specializing in major construction projects, mainly in the Lincoln and extended East Midlands region but also nationally . We have a variety of clients in a range of sectors, including affordable housing, food, retail, education, commercial, industrial and health.
We are currently seeking a Project Estimator to join the existing team.
Main duties and requirements
Candidates must have strong building experience/background with extensive knowledge of building works in a variety of sectors under a range of different contractual arrangements using our estimating software package.
Generally, the role will include appraising tender documents, preparing sub-contract and material enquiries, producing bills of quantities, risk and value management, preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans, tender adjudication and client presentations.
Knowledge of current modern procurement methods & construction contracts is necessary as is the ability to read and interpret Architects specifications and drawings to a high standard along with a good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements & current building regulations for statutory compliance.
Candidates will be expected to be able to present tender documentation for analysis to Commercial & Contracts Managers pre-tender, providing a commercial understanding of the project and the market and also liaise with the construction team post tender.
The successful candidate must have high attention to detail, provide an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving whilst being able to plan effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
