Estimating Manager

We provide a range of construction services from new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects to construction-related services such as plant hire, security, roofing and waste recycling.

We are currently seeking an Estimating Manager to join the existing team in Peterborough.

Main duties

  • As Estimating Manager you will be responsible for leading the estimating team, managing workload, representing the Company through the tender process, building and maintaining Client relationships.

  • The successful candidate will report to Senior Management Team.

  • The roles will include appraising tender documents, preparing sub-contract and material enquiries, measurement, risk and value management, preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans, tender adjudication and client presentations.

  • Knowledge of current modern procurement methods & construction contracts.

  • Ability to read and interpret Architects specifications and drawings to a high standard.

  • Good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements & current building regulations for statutory compliance.

  • Capable of financial analysis & preparation of detailed cost plans, producing bills of quantities from drawings and specifications, subcontractor liaison and negotiations.

  • Present tender documentation for analysis to commercial & contracts managers pre-tender, provide a commercial understanding of projects and markets & liaise with the construction team post tender.

  • The successful candidate must have high attention to detail, provide an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving whilst being able to plan effectively to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Must hold full valid driving licence.
