We provide a range of construction services from new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects to construction-related services such as plant hire, security, roofing and waste recycling.

Lindum BMS is the Group’s Building Maintenance Services division, specialising in construction projects in the Peterborough and East Midlands region, as well as planned and reactive minor works and maintenance jobs. We have a variety of clients in a range of sectors, including affordable housing, food, retail, and education, commercial, industrial and health.

We are currently seeking a small works Estimator to join the existing team.

Main duties

  • Small Works – pricing refurbishment, fit out and new build projects up to £150K, as well as minor adaptations and maintenance.Must have good knowledge of construction methods and the ability to work with clients to develop schemes. The ideal candidate will have strong building experience/background with extensive knowledge of restoration, conservation and new build works in a variety of sectors.

  • The roles will include appraising tender documents, preparing sub-contract and material enquiries, measurement, risk and value management, preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans, tender adjudication and client presentations.

  • Knowledge of current modern procurement methods & construction contracts.

  • Ability to read and interpret Architects specifications and drawings to a high standard.

  • Good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements & current building regulations for statutory compliance.

  • Capable of financial analysis & preparation of detailed cost plans, producing bills of quantities from drawings and specifications, subcontractor liaison and negotiations.

  • Present tender documentation for analysis to commercial & contracts managers pre-tender, provide a commercial understanding of projects and markets & liaise with the construction team post tender.

  • The successful candidate must have high attention to detail, provide an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving whilst being able to plan effectively to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Must hold full valid driving licence.
