You won’t be expected to know how to do all the aspects of the role immediately and will be trained on the areas that you don’t know.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and submission of the VAT returns.
- Preparation and submission of the Corporate Tax Returns.

- Dealing with a wide variety of practical queries about tax from within the business.
- Ensuring processes and policies are in place and managed regarding tax risks.
- Project work such as tax for joint ventures and acquisitions.
What we’re looking for
- A recognised relevant qualification e.g., ACA. ICAS, ACCA or CTA.
- Exposure to UK tax matters, this may be corporate tax, VAT, or mixed tax.
- You will need to be proactive and self-driven, keen to learn and able to seek out information.
- Tax is deadline-led so you must be able to manage and prioritise your workload.
- You must have a positive and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine interest in tax.
- Strong communication skills are essential, with confidence to communicate with a range of colleagues and external contacts such as HMRC and external advisors.
- It is essential that you are IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel).
