Lindum to join new Scape Regional Construction Framework

3rd January 2018

Lindum is delighted to announce it has been appointed to provide construction services to public sector clients across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, as part of the Scape Regional Construction Framework.

Lindum Group has been selected as Scape Group’s delivery partner for public sector projects up to a value of £750,000 within the Framework’s North East Midlands region.

From March, the new four year Framework will be open to any public sector organisation within the Midlands and East of England. It will replace the East Midlands Property Alliance (empa) Framework, which expires in early 2018.

Lindum went through a rigorous selection process in order to be included in the Framework, which is designed to allow public sector organisations to easily access high quality and cost effective construction services.

Freddie Chambers, Executive Director, Lindum Group Ltd, said: “We are delighted to have been selected for the new Scape Regional Construction Framework.

“The rigorous qualification process means clients can be assured of the quality and competitiveness of our work. They can also guarantee that the socio-economic priorities of local communities are at the heart of our business.

“We are an employee-owned company and the philosophy of nurturing talent underpins our training and apprenticeship programmes. We have a practical and talented workforce of our own and an extensive local supply chain.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with Scape and our Framework partners to deliver successful projects, whilst bringing meaningful benefits to our local economies of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.”

In total, the Regional Construction Framework will provide construction services for public sector projects in the Midlands and East of England, covering Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.

The new framework’s eleven lots are divided into bands by project value, including Lower (up to £750k), Intermediate (£500k - £2.5m) and Upper (£1m - £5m). The four year framework will have a total value of up to £1.1bn.

The Scape Regional Construction Framework has taken a strengthened approach to demonstrating value for money, and as standard, now measures social value, via a TOMs (Themes, Outcomes, Measures) method, developed in association with Social Value Portal. Scape will also continue to monitor project performance via additional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for local spend and local employment. The framework will also ensure that a social enterprise is engaged on every project.

Scape’s delivery partners on the new framework include a number of SMEs operating within the Midlands and East of England. The eleven contractors comprise Seddon Construction, Lindum Group, John Graham Holdings, Jeakins Weir, GF Tomlinson, Fortem, Morgan Sindall, RG Carter Building, Conamar Building Services, Clegg Construction and Ashe Construction. Each partner has been selected for their extensive local knowledge and demonstrable experience of working collaboratively to deliver a range of public sector projects.

The Scape Regional Construction Framework has been developed to create a model that would offer the public sector an element of choice of contractor and ensure that they work with a team that has extensive local knowledge of the Midlands and East of England.

The current empa framework has seen high levels of demand from the public sector across the Midlands region, having completed over 500 projects to date, and has delivered significant levels of local spend, SME engagement and project success.

Victoria Brambini, Managing Director of Scape Procure, comments: “We are tremendously proud of the success of the empa Framework, which has offered an excellent profile of contractors to the public sector in the region and has consistently created new opportunities for local SMEs within their supply chain. The Regional Construction framework builds upon the empa Framework aiming to generate greater value for money and project success for the public sector across the region.

“By extending the Regional Construction Framework’s reach into the East of England, we will be able to provide public sector organisations with access to a Framework that not only delivers high quality and cost effective services from contractors that have demonstrated the right balance of cost and quality, but crucially also has specific social value objectives. We are looking forward to working with our clients and partners, both existing and new, to deliver even greater value for local communities in the period ahead.”
