Plans for new development on former dairy site are approved

13th November 2018

Plans to build 36 new affordable homes on the former Boultham Dairy site in Lincoln have been approved.

The project will see Lindum work in partnership with Longhurst Group to provide six three-bed townhouses, 12 two-bed semi-detached houses and 18 two-bed semi-detached homes

The plans will complete the transformation of the site on Boultham Park Road, which has already been partially redeveloped to provide a supermarket and a purpose-built mosque.

Early work on the final parcel of land, which is owned by The Lincolnshire Co-op, is set to start in December, with construction estimated to complete in 2020.

Ian Jackson, Executive Director Portfolio Investment, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive the universal approval of the City of Lincoln Council for this development.

“It is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when all parties work together.

“With the support of Homes England, ourselves and Lindum – with whom we enjoy a brilliant relationship – have worked together to unlock this brownfield site in order to provide more affordable homes for the city.

“The City of Lincoln Council’s planning team have been extremely positive and co-operative throughout the planning process and we thank them for their support.

“We now eagerly await the start of work on the site as we look to bring this exciting development to fruition.”

Stuart Mitchell of Lindum Group added: “The Lindum Group is delighted to be part of this exciting project. We look forward to starting work on site and delivering, along with the Longhurst Group, much-needed housing in Lincoln."
