KFC - York
Clifton Moor Ltd c/o British Land Co Ltd
Lindum York was appointed to design and construct a new Class A3 Drive Thru Restaurant for KFC on the site of an existing car park at the established Clifton Moor Retail Park in York.
The new building is approximately 260 sq m (2,800 sq ft) gross internal area, this excludes the chiller/coldroom enclosure and open yard area, and is served by a dedicated drive thru lane accessed off the main car park.
Despite having to contend with an old runway buried underneath the surface, the foundations were completed within the first 3 weeks and the steel frame finished according to schedule.
We avoided excavating the road on the busy retail park by using impact moling, a trenchless method of laying the BT cables underground. This meant we could accelerate the work, minimise risk and eliminate disruption to the retail customers.
The project was completed 1 week ahead of programme.
