Lindum was appointed to deliver the refurbishment and fit out of the ground floor of Thomas Parker House in Lincoln so it could become a managed workspace for use by local businesses.

The area was a former department store but had most recently been used by a local church until the congregation relocated to a different building nearby.

Once our work was completed, the building featured high-speed internet, hot desks, meeting rooms, breakout areas, booths for phone calls and a selection of private offices for hire.

Our team worked with an interior designer from London who led on the fit out. The office space was left as an open plan area and different areas of the building had varying colour schemes to appeal to different people’s taste and needs.

Our site team removed all the existing flooring, wallpapering and units in the building. New air conditioning was installed, along with new IT data, access control and catering facilities.

We replaced all old aluminium windows with new uPVC windows. All plant and services control panels had to be positioned outside and therefore we
constructed duct bridges that then passed through into the building.

The site is located close to the High Street and therefore logistics to and from site was an issue.

Any deliveries of materials or skip drop-offs and collections had to be scheduled in at least one day in advance to avoid any major travel disruption. Our team ensured that large vehicles didn’t arrive on site during rush hour periods of the day.

Materials were broken into smaller loads and carried by hand or using pallet trucks into the building. The works were completed on time and without any issues caused in and around the site.
