Project Overview
Bassetlaw District Council appointed Lindum to convert a three-storey retail block into a new education hub using the PAGABO Refit and Refurbishment Framework.
Work involved a full internal soft strip out and the removal of structural elements. A new hallway was created within the building, which meant changes to the original steel frame were needed to take the new flooring, while a new roof and internal and external walls were replaced and redecorated.
The client wanted the building to be brought up to new energy efficient standards so a new thermal efficient roof was required, along with energy efficient thermal plasterboards. Old single glazed windows were removed and replaced with new double-glazed ones. New flooring and lighting were also required.
The finished building offers higher education courses and is also the council’s flagship regeneration project in the town.
