Project Overview
Lindum Group delivered a comprehensive refurbishment of the White Hart Hotel, a landmark in Lincoln’s historic Bailgate area.
The project modernised the hotel while preserving its heritage, featuring the creation of two new cocktail bars, a rebranded restaurant, and extensive internal and external renovations.
Lindum’s construction team carried out significant structural and aesthetic upgrades, including:
- New shopfront onto Bailgate, enhancing the hotel’s street presence.
- Refurbishment of ground and first-floor function rooms, formerly the Orangery/Eastgate Suite and King Richard Room.
- Full renovation of 52 bedrooms and circulation areas, with upgraded en-suites featuring new sanitary ware, flooring, and tiling.
- Kitchen, communal spaces, and staff welfare facilities refurbished to modern standards.
- Two roof terraces constructed, including structural modifications and access provisions.
- Lift replacement, demolishing existing facilities and installing new platform lifts.
- Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical upgrades throughout the building.
- External works, including roof repairs, masonry restoration, and window and door refurbishments.
Lindum’s specialist joinery team played a key role in the transformation of the hotel’s hospitality areas, delivering custom-made elements, including bespoke bar installations for the main bar, function bar, and restaurant bar and a new handcrafted shopfront for the restaurant.
The process began with detailed design work, ensuring all bespoke pieces aligned with the White Hart’s vision. Our client was invited to the workshop to review progress and request refinements before final installation.
The refurbishment modernised the White Hart Hotel while respecting its heritage, enhancing guest experience and supporting the hotel’s long-term vision. Lindum’s collaborative approach, with construction and joinery teams working seamlessly, ensured a high-quality finish for this iconic Lincoln venue.
