We are currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Apprentice to join our Accounts team in North Hykeham, Lincoln.

Reporting to a Supervisor and Financial Controller, you will receive on the job training in all areas of Purchase Ledger, with key responsibilities to include:

  • Receiving, coding, and verifying incoming purchase invoices against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Processing and authorising payments to suppliers, often in batches, and this is done in a timely manner.
  • Reconciling supplier statements to Lindum Groups purchase ledger to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Acting as the point of contact for suppliers and internal departments to handle queries related to invoices and payments.
  • Producing company reports on expenditure and other financial data colleagues as appropriate.
  • Maintaining organised filing systems for invoices and statements for easy access and audit purposes.
  • Using inhouse software and MS Excel.

In addition to your time in the office, you will have the opportunity to study the AAT certificate in Accounting – Level 2 or equivalent. Study would be a mixture of online learning coupled with time at Lincoln College.

As the successful applicant, you will have an interest in Accounts having studied aa appropriate subject at A Level or equivalent. GCSE passes of 4 or above in Maths and English are also required.

There will also be potential to develop understanding of roles in the wider Finance team.
