The Grange House development presented an opportunity to create a sustainable future for health and social care in Lincolnshire by breathing new life into a well-known local landmark. Transforming the Grade II listed building from a state of disrepair, the project delivered a fully restored and modern supported living facility for adults with disabilities.

The existing 20-bed property was carefully reconfigured to provide 10 high-quality apartments, supported by 24-hour care provision and shared communal spaces designed to promote independence and community living.

The refurbishment required a sensitive approach, balancing heritage conservation with the requirements of a modern care facility. Works included significant roof repairs, replacement heritage sash windows manufactured by Lindum Joinery, new doors, upgraded services, internal remodelling, and the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms.

A key challenge was managing the constraints of working within a Grade II listed building and a restricted town-centre location. Through careful planning and collaboration with specialist consultants, the team successfully protected the building’s historic features while incorporating modern facilities and ecological mitigation measures.

The completed development has preserved an important local heritage asset while providing much-needed supported accommodation, creating a high-quality, inclusive environment that will benefit residents and the wider community for years to come.
