Robbie Michael

Robbie Michael came to Lindum through the Barnardo’s Leaving Care Service and began by completing 13 weeks of full time work experience.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity. I just take each day as it comes and make sure I never miss an opportunity to learn”

His placement went so well that in September 2017, Robbie was offered a two-year traineeship with Lindum under the Lincolnshire County Council-funded Care Leavers’ Apprenticeship Scheme.

Robbie is highly regarded by his colleagues at Lindum Joinery, guided by his mentor Paul, and is back at Lincoln College on block release every couple of months. Robbie has a really positive attitude, a permanent smile on his face and 100 per cent attendance at work.

“I went to North Kesteven School, which is close to the Lindum Business Park and while I always knew I liked woodwork, I didn’t think I’d be able to make a career out of it,” he said.
