The Lincoln and District Sunday Football League will be sponsored by Lindum Group for the next two seasons.

The long-running league, which features almost 60 teams from around the county, plays a vital role in the local sporting community by providing weekly opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy competitive football.

To qualify for membership, teams must play within 30 miles (as the crow flies) from Lincoln’s Stonebow.

Lindum’s sponsorship will help cover the costs of running the league, including player and club administration, the hire of League Cup venues and their match officials, trophies, and other essential expenses – enabling more people to get involved in the game and keeping grassroots football thriving in Lincolnshire.

Lindum Group Director Freddie Chambers said: “We’re really pleased to sponsor the Lincoln and District Sunday League as it plays such an important role in our local community.
“Grassroots football brings people together, promotes physical fitness, good mental health and wellbeing, and teamwork, and provides a great opportunity for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game.”

League President, and Secretary, Ian Stephenson said: “We are grateful to Lindum for their support. Sponsorship like this is vital in helping us to keep the league running and to maintain affordable access to football for hundreds of local players.
“It’s fantastic to see a well-known local business backing community sport in this way.”

The Lincoln and District Sunday League has a proud history in the city and continues to go from strength to strength, with fixtures taking place across a range of local venues every Sundays during the season between September and April each Season.
