South Kesteven District Council’s new Customer Service Centre is now open following construction work by our Lindum Peterborough Division.
Situated below the Council Offices at The Picture House in Grantham, the new premises opened to the public on Monday, October 14.
The move from the Guildhall Arts Centre to a much larger space now allows the council to offer an improved customer experience.
Councillor Rhea Rayside, Cabinet Member for People and Communities at SKDC, said: “The improved Customer Service Centre represents the council’s commitment to serving the needs of our residents.
“By offering face-to-face personalised assistance, as well as through our other channels, we can enhance the overall customer experience and foster greater community engagement.
“These facilities will also support the requirements of staff as they continue to deliver services for residents across the district.”
SKDC Chairman, Councillor Paul Fellows, thanked the council’s project team for its hard work in bringing such a successful conclusion.
He added: “I’d also like to extend a huge thank you to our construction contractor Lindum. They have done a great job and the space looks fantastic.”
Lindum Construction Manager Martin Souster said: “We are really pleased to have collaborated on this project with SKDC.
“This is the 11th consecutive scheme we have worked on for SKDC over the last two years and we made sure this scheme was developed in line with the council’s vision.
“It is fantastic to see the facility in use, providing residents with an excellent service.”
Our in-house Joinery Workshop crafted curved desks for the reception and customer advice areas, and a countertop for a private customer consultation room.
Lindum senior cabinet maker Charlie Smallwood said: “The desks were a joy to make. They look lovely. It was great to be able to make the desks look unique by incorporating acoustic panelling.”
This project was procured via the SCAPE Regional Construction framework.
Works are currently underway for 20 affordable rental apartments in Swinegate, Grantham, set for completion next summer.
We are also excited to commence works later this month on a new waste depot at Turnpike Close, Grantham.
