Lindum Group is on site at White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds, delivering an expansion of its existing Primark store.

The project, on behalf of client Landsec, will increase the store’s size from 26,200 sq ft to 55,700 sq ft.

Construction is underway, with completion expected in 2027. Once complete, the additional space will allow Primark to widen its product offering across clothing, homeware, and lifestyle ranges.

To support the development, a new access point has been created from the roundabout outside the centre. This will eventually serve as the main entrance to the extended service yard.

Lindum’s York Division is working alongside the White Rose Shopping Centre team to maintain safe public access and minimise disruption to retail operations. The centre and its shops remain open during the works. Where necessary, construction activities are being scheduled outside of regular shopping hours.

Ben Marris, Construction Manager, said: “We are working closely with Landsec and the White Rose team to deliver the project safely and efficiently while maintaining access for visitors and tenants.”

The scheme follows the recent introduction of Primark’s Click & Collect service at White Rose.

Pablo Sueiras, Head of Brand Account Management at Landsec, said: “Retailers are increasingly investing in larger stores to showcase their full product ranges. Primark’s expansion at White Rose Shopping Centre is an example of this approach.”

Landsec reports that occupancy across its retail portfolio now exceeds pre-pandemic levels at 96%. The company completed the acquisition of Liverpool ONE in late 2024.

The White Rose Primark expansion is the latest addition to Lindum’s portfolio of work in live commercial environments, building on its experience delivering construction projects in busy retail centres and shopping schemes.
