Lindum Group is marking national Social Enterprise Day today by highlighting the role not-for-profit organisations play in our supply chain.
A range of social enterprises regularly partner with Lindum Group to support construction projects. Their involvement reflects a wider national trend, with the Procurement Act 2023 placing greater emphasis on social value in public-sector contracting.
Social Enterprises are businesses that reinvest their profits for social or environmental good. Working with them supports Lindum’s ambition of creating positive legacies in local communities.
Hayley Cowell, Lindum’s Social Value Lead, said: “Every pound spent with a social enterprise supports jobs, community initiatives, and environmental improvements. It transforms simple procurement into a direct investment into the community.”

Lindum regularly partners with enterprises including Pelican Trust, Radiant Cleaners, and Lincolnshire Outdoor Learning, among others.
Samantha Cutler, from Pelican Trust, said the partnership delivers great value to the organisation, which supports Lincolnshire residents living with a mental health condition, learning difficulty, or physical disability.
“Our partnership with Lindum is priceless. It enables us to teach our learners new skills in our joinery workshop; helping raise their confidence, self-belief and employability.”
“From building multiple bird boxes, picnic benches, notice boards and creating bespoke fun playground sensory wheels and obstacle courses, we enjoy the variety that working with Lindum offers. We are also proud that this partnership is another way we can support the wider Lincolnshire community.”
“These partnerships help create opportunities for local people and support a more resilient local economy. We value the positive social impact these organisations deliver alongside their quality service,” added Hayley.

Social enterprises are known for prioritising ethical and sustainable sourcing, including fair labour practices and environmentally conscious operations. This often results in stronger community engagement around construction sites.
Social Enterprise UK says that, “Social Enterprise Day is a global day created to raise the profile of the social enterprise movement and show the transformative impact it is having across the world.”
Lindum says it plans to continue expanding the number of social enterprises within its supply chain in the coming years, strengthening its commitment to delivering measurable social value through its projects.
