Lindum Plant is now providing towing and trailer services after taking over the reins from a long-standing Lincoln business.

The team, based at the Lindum Business Park in North Hykeham, has taken over trailer hire, maintenance, and parts from Portland Towing Centre Ltd.

The business is closing its doors as its owners, Peter Horn and family, prepare to retire following more than 40 years of service.

Portland Towing Centre began in 1982 and grew from a single unit into a trusted local organisation. It has always been a true family business, with Peter being joined by his wife Glenys and son Mark Horn, alongside long-serving employee Lee Frayne..

Lindum has been a long standing customer and the Horns felt it was the perfect fit for their customers.

Mark Horn said: “Despite its size, Lindum Plant has the exact same family feel that we had with Portland Towing. Every Lindum Group employee we have spoken to has emphasised that fact. They are the perfect business to pick up where Portland Towing left off.”

James Larder, Director of Lindum Plant, said: “It is with great pleasure that we are able to carry on offering a quality service reflecting the family values that Portland Towing Centre has represented over the years. Our skilled team are ready to take on the challenge.

“We thank the Horn family for their kind support with the transition and wish them well in retirement, while we prepare for a new journey with customers new and old. Welcome to Lindum Group for all your trailer and vehicle support needs,” he added.
