Lindum completed work on the refurbishment and refit of the Lincoln Drill Hall to a very strict deadline on behalf of owners Lincoln College.

Work was completed on the refit in just nine weeks in order to get the venue open in time for the pantomime season, eight weeks earlier than what it would ordinarily take.

The Lindum team worked on modernising the kitchen and toilets of the Grade II listed building, whilst also creating a new bar and restaurant. There were also new, energy efficient, lights and heating and cooling system installed.

As the building is listed, care had to be taken when work was started. While speed was an important part of this job, so too was maintaining the integrity of the historical building.

While the bulk of the work focused on the new kitchen, bar and restaurant, small refurbishment works were carried out to the auditorium area, with the floor being painted and a new fire alarm installed.

As the programme was so condensed, several methods to ease the pressure were used, such as using a local supply chain wherever possible. All of the subcontractors working on site were also local, which helped with the time constraints, whilst also generating revenue for the local economy.

The project was also used to help the local community, with a food bank donation bin placed on site.
