Lindum is bringing new purpose to a historic Grade II listed building in Market Rasen, transforming it into high-quality supported housing for adults with disabilities.
The development at Grange House will provide 10 modern apartments, each offering 24-hour access to care and support. It will also include shared communal spaces where residents can spend time with family and friends and take part in group activities.
The £3.9 million scheme is being delivered in partnership between Acis Group, Lincolnshire County Council, and West Lindsey District Council, with additional funding support from Homes England.
Once complete, it will offer high-quality supported housing designed to help people live as independently as possible while remaining part of their local community. Completion is expected by spring 2026.
Lindum Co-Chair Edward Chambers said: “Renovating an older building is always challenging, and Acis Group deserves real credit for its commitment to this restoration.
“Once complete, Grange House will not only provide an important facility for the community but will also breathe new life into a well-known local landmark, transforming it from a state of disrepair into a fully restored and functional building.
“As a local construction company with experience in both large-scale construction and intricate heritage restoration, this project is an excellent match for our team’s skills.
“Our in-house joinery division has crafted bespoke sash windows and skirting boards, while our construction team is managing the works from start to finish, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout.”
Alongside the residential accommodation, plans include a community-focused social enterprise, giving tenants the chance to develop new skills by growing produce and caring for animals.
Greg Bacon, CEO of Acis Group, added: “We are incredibly proud to be bringing this development to Market Rasen, investing £3.9 million to give this stunning Grade II listed building a new purpose that aligns perfectly with our vision for supporting communities when they need us most. This project reflects our long-term commitment to the town and its people, ensuring access to high-quality, supported housing that enables independent and fulfilling lives.”
Cllr Steve Clegg, executive member for adult care and health at Lincolnshire County Council, said the project would mean individuals could remain in a home of their own, with the support they need to live meaningful and independent lives.
“This will let them stay connected to their local community, where they can be supported by their social network. This is an incredibly beneficial project, and I look forward to seeing further progress over the coming months,” he said.
Cllr Stephen Bunney, ward member for Market Rasen at West Lindsey District Council, added: “I’m delighted to see work progressing on this much-needed supported housing development. The inclusion of communal spaces and a community-focused social enterprise will bring real benefits, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this development will have on local people.”
A spokesperson for Homes England said: “As the Government’s housing and regeneration agency, increasing the supply of quality affordable homes remains one of our key objectives. This investment through the Affordable Homes Programme enables Acis Group to build 10 much-needed new homes the people of Lincolnshire can be proud of.”
