School teachers in Nottingham are starting the new term fully fuelled thanks to a donation by Lindum Group.
Hampers of tea, coffee and biscuits have been given to staff at eight Nottingham City Council primary schools to thank them for accommodating construction work over recent weeks.
The goodies were purchased by Lindum from our social enterprise partners and the wooden hampers were made by not-for-profit training company Pelican Trust.
Melanie Smith, business manager at Crabtree Farm Primary School, said staff are “over the moon” to receive the gifts.
She said: “Thank you Lindum. Staff survive on tea, coffee and biscuits to help us get through the day, so this is fantastic.”
Steve Parry, acting head teacher at Dunkirk Primary School, said: “The donation is a very kind gesture. It’s lovely. The staff really appreciate it.”

Each wooden gift box contains biscuits made by Half the Story, a Nottingham bakery which employs former homeless people, and Fairtrade Jamilia’s Ethical Coffee.
We have also partnered with NEMI Teas, which provides employment to refugees, to include organic and Fairtrade tea bags in our school donations.
Hampers were also donated to Carrington, Claremont and Snapewood primary schools.
Jade Nelson, Lindum framework administrator, said: “We are delighted to gift these boxes of goodies to staff at the Nottingham schools where we have been working this summer.
“We recognise the upheaval and inconvenience staff may experience because of our works, such as moving classrooms, altering timetables and noise, and these hampers were a way of saying ‘thank you’ for accommodating this. We really hope staff enjoy the treats.
“As a business, we are committed to delivering social value as part of our projects, to make a positive impact in communities.
“Our ethos is that there should be a purpose beyond simply making a profit, and the company has continuously strived to be a good neighbour and a responsible employer.”
The summer works programme in Nottingham was procured through the four-year Scape Regional Construction framework for projects up to £10m.
Our membership of Scape means we can help clients progress work goals and plans more quickly and easily because of early client engagement and partnering, all in a compliant manner.
