Lindum has officially started construction of a new road at Hornbeam Business Park in Horncastle.

The project, led by Lincolnshire County Council with support from East Lindsey District Council, is a major investment that will provide space for businesses to expand and thrive.

It will open up around four acres of serviced development land, creating three new plots for commercial and industrial use.

The £1.9 million development is expected to generate more than 65 new jobs, boosting the local economy and supporting business growth in the area.

Lindum Director Kevin Damarell said the new road would play a crucial role in unlocking investment and creating opportunities for businesses.

“We’re pleased to be working with Lincolnshire County Council to deliver this important project, which was procured via the Scape regional construction framework,” he said.

“Good infrastructure is essential for economic growth, and by improving access, the council is laying the foundations for future investment, supporting existing businesses, and encouraging new ones to set up here.”

Lincolnshire County Council has invested £1.5 million in the project, with an additional £400,000 contribution from East Lindsey District Council.

The new business park is part of a wider £20 million county council initiative to enhance business facilities across Lincolnshire, with further investments planned in Grantham, Lincoln, Holbeach, and beyond.

Cllr Colin Davie, Executive Councillor for Economy at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “This is another great project led and predominantly funded by the county council that ensures businesses have the land and facilities to grow and develop. Businesses in the area have told us they need space to relocate and expand, and we are committed to doing all we can to help. This development will help create jobs and drive economic growth in Horncastle and beyond.”
