A new service station is beginning to take shape on land next to the junction of the A17 and A16 in south Lincolnshire.
Groundworks are almost complete and steel structures have started to go up on the site at Sutterton roundabout, near Boston.
Lindum has spent weeks carrying out ground remediation and concrete piling to strengthen the site base, and has excavated huge underground bays for storing five 60,000 litre fuel tanks.
Construction teams have installed the steel frames for the kiosks of the petrol station and truck stop and completed the ground remediation for the drive thru restaurant.
Once complete, the site will also feature a 57-bay lorry park with showers, changing and catering facilities as well as a Starbucks coffee shop.
Lindum development manager Mitul Shah said the project was progressing well.
“We are pleased to be delivering these new facilities for motorists and lorry drivers on what is one of Lincolnshire’s busiest routes,” he said.
“At first, the ground conditions proved challenging for the team but everyone involved has worked together to overcome these initial problems.
“The development is really getting going now and those driving past the site will soon be able to see the buildings begin to take shape.”
Lindum initially acquired the site in March this year and has worked in partnership with Pro-Petro Ltd and AKV Services Ltd to deliver the Shell Sutterton Truck Port and service facilities.
James Townsend Property Director of Pro-Petro Ltd, said: “We are pleased to offer this much needed 24 hr secure Truck stop to the South Lincolnshire region.
“It has everything a HGV driver needs from showers to a barber shop onsite so hopefully it will help with HGV parking in nearby villages and industrial estates.”
In total, the site covers 6.5 acres of land next to the roundabout. The new services will be entered from the A17 and drivers will exit onto the A16. The project is due for completion by early 2019.
AKV Services Limited Managing Director, Puvanasingham Vaseeharan, said the new services would provide a much-improved service for the local community and motorist.

The development is expected to create 65 new jobs once it is complete.
MP for the area, Matt Warman, said he was pleased to see how the project was progressing.
“Having been involved in discussions around this project since 2015 it's really good to see it finally nearing completion,” he said.
“I'm sure that lorry drivers will welcome the chance to stop at a site with great facilities and motorists will equally benefit from a convenient stopping point on a very busy route.
“The additional creation of 65 new jobs for the area is very much to be welcomed and I look forward to visiting once the site is fully operational in 2019.”
