Lindum has completed 40 new top-quality homes in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The development, in Hardwick Lane, is Ashfield District Council’s largest new housing site to date, comprising 30 houses, two bungalows and 8 flats.

Two of the homes have a fourth bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor for families where someone is a wheelchair user.

The properties are designed to be sustainable and cost-effective, with solar panels supplying 30% of electricity use, EV charging points, high-grade insulation, bee bricks and bat roost points.

Cllr Andy Meakin, the council’s Executive Lead for Social Housing and Assets, said: “It is incredible to see these houses now complete and residents moving in. These homes are for Ashfield people on the housing register and as a council we are committed to building safe and sustainable homes across the district.

“These modern and affordable homes have been built to the highest possible standard and are a real asset to Ashfield. It has been great to see the process from when work first started to now seeing people making them their own.”

Lindum’s social value delivery has included support for careers, education and community initiatives through mock interviews, 12 weeks of trade work experience, media student placements, school donations and funding for tenant engagement opportunities.

The regional construction company has also delivered strong local economic value, with 38% of subcontractor spend and 72% of labour sourced within 20 miles, while 100% of our supply chain comprised SMEs, including 61% micro businesses.

The works were procured through Pagabo’s Medium Works Framework, which enabled Ashfield District Council to compliantly appoint Lindum and  facilitate early contractor engagement and open dialogue surrounding quality and design.
