Lindum has helped a grassroots cricket club by transporting three cricket square protection covers gifted by another village team five miles away.
Bracebridge Heath Cricket Club donated the 9.5m x 4m covers to Heighington Cricket Club, which appealed for help relocating them.
Lindum stepped in after Health & Safety Adviser Carla Porter, a Heighington Women’s Softball player whose son Toby plays for Bracebridge Heath CC, shared the transportation need.
Carla’s husband, Lindum BMS’s Commercial Director Shaun Porter, then approached Lindum Plant’s Managing Director James Larder for help.
Transport Manager Peter Darker planned the deliveries with lorry driver Paul Bowler, assisted by Derrick Buttigieg.
Each cover was transported separately between the villages, with Lindum Security General Manager Dean Leigh driving the escort.

Chris Sprigg, Heighington CC’s Groundsman, said: “We could not have done this without the help of Lindum, and we are extremely grateful for that.
“We recently re-joined the Lincolnshire Midweek Cricket League and formed a women’s softball cricket team, so these covers will help us maximise our available space and host more matches throughout the season. It makes us feel more like a cricket club again.”
Lindum Plant’s MD James said: “As a local business, we’re always pleased to support community organisations where we can.
“This job required a substantial amount of planning involving several members of the Lindum team to ensure everything went smoothly.
“We’re delighted we could help get the covers to their new home and wish everyone at Heighington CC every success for the season.”
