Lindum has completed a major extension project at a Northampton school, creating new learning spaces and uniting the school’s historic buildings into a single, connected campus.
Earls Barton Primary School officially opened its new classrooms this week as pupils, staff, governors and members of the local community gathered to unveil the names of the three buildings that now make up the school – the Dawn Building, the Horizon Building and the Beacon Building..
The Horizon Building contains five additional classrooms, designed to support the school’s growing pupil population, and provides the link between the Dawn Building (the former infant school) and the Beacon Building (the former junior school).
A key feature of the project has been the successful connection of the Victorian school buildings, bringing the entire school community together into one unified building for the first time.
Marie Lally, Co-Headteacher of Earls Barton Primary School, said: “This is a landmark moment for Earls Barton Primary School.
“The new facilities represent a significant investment in the future of our pupils and community.
“By bringing our school together into one building and creating additional learning spaces, we are ensuring that every child has access to an environment where they can learn, grow and achieve their full potential, all whilst learning and display our school values.”

Darren King, Managing Director of Lindum Peterborough, said: “We are delighted to join staff, pupils and the wider community in celebrating the official opening of this important project at Earls Barton Primary School.
“Creating high-quality learning environments that support growing communities is something we are passionate about. This expansion provides much-needed additional teaching space, improved facilities and enhanced access for pupils, staff and visitors, helping the school meet the needs of future generations.
“Throughout the project, our team worked closely with the school and all stakeholders to carefully phase the works and minimise disruption to daily school life.
“We are pleased to have delivered a facility that will make a lasting difference to the educational experience of local children.”
Darren added: “Education is a key sector for Lindum, and over the past four years we have successfully completed more than 70 projects for schools, colleges and academies across the region.
“Beyond construction, we are committed to creating social value through apprenticeships, local employment opportunities and inspiring young people to consider careers in the industry. We hope this development will serve the community well for many years to come.”
